Yobe CAN Condemns Southern Kaduna Killings

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Yobe state chapter has condemned the killings of people in southern Kaduna with a call on relevant authorities to fish out the killers and bring them to book.
The Yobe state CAN chairman, Reverend Jibrin Joshua, in a media briefing in Damaturu the state capital, called on the Federal Government and the Kaduna state government to end the killings and ensure justice, equity and fairness in the troubled area.
“Such killings and destruction of houses, churches and farmlands are unacceptable and therefore condemnable.
“No individuals or group of persons disguising as Fulani herdsmen are permitted to take the law into their hands and we hereby call on both the federal and the state government to do thorough investigation and ensure that those behind the killings are brought to book,” the CAN chairman said.
Rev. Joshua, while appreciating the recent measures taken by concerned authorities toward the restoration of peace in the affected areas, also called for adequate compensation to those affected.
“Concerned authorities should redouble their efforts in putting an end to these killings and ensure that those affected are adequately compensated,” Rev Jibrin said.
While praying for the souls of those killed in the crisis, the clergy expressesd sympathy to those who lost their loved ones and property as a result of the killings and prayed God would replenish the losses.

Senator Isiaka Adeleke Dies At 62

A member of the Nigerian Senate, representing Osun West Senatorial district, Isiaka Adeleke, has died at 62. A family source who spoke to Channels Television under the condition of anonymity, said Adeleke died at Biket hospital in Osogbo at 6:00am on Sunday. When his corpse was brought to his home in Ede town, the atmosphere became tense with friends and family members weeping uncontrollably. As at the time of filling the report, the body had been taken to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for autopsy. Mr Adeleke, who was the first governor of the state in 1992, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected into the Senate in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Passengers Accuse Dana Air Of Neglect After Port Harcourt Mishap

The passengers of the near crash landing of Dana Plane at Port Harcourt International Airport are lamenting over what they describe as utter neglect being experienced since the incident occurred. According to them, no one has come forward to explain what transpired yesterday evening or inform them about how to access their luggage. One of the passengers also informed our correspondent that contrary to reports, the plane landed normally, but could not explain what happened thereafter.
