FG Issues New Guideline For Collation Of Surplus Fund

The federal government has issued a new guideline for the computation of operating surpluses in order to reduce cases of under-remittance of funds by revenue-collection agencies.
The guideline was issued over the weekend through the Ministry of Finance.
Financial statements are expected to contain details of projected internally generated revenue, personnel and overhead costs derived from the national budget, so as to adequately prepare estimates of revenue and expenditure of agencies.
In 2016, 33 revenue generating agencies were indicted for not remitting a total of 450 billion Naira into the consolidated revenue fund account of government.
The Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, has therefore warned that a violation of the three-year template would attract severe sanctions.

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Imo state has continued its raid on independent petroleum marketers who sell fuel above the government approved price of 145 naira per litre. During its routine monitoring of four Local Government areas in Imo state Aboh, Ezinihitte, Ahiazu Mbaise and Obowo Local Governments, seven filling stations were sealed due to hoarding, under-dispensing and selling above regulated pump price. Senator Isiaka Adeleke Dies At 62

A member of the Nigerian Senate, representing Osun West Senatorial district, Isiaka Adeleke, has died at 62. A family source who spoke to Channels Television under the condition of anonymity, said Adeleke died at Biket hospital in Osogbo at 6:00am on Sunday. When his corpse was brought to his home in Ede town, the atmosphere became tense with friends and family members weeping uncontrollably. As at the time of filling the report, the body had been taken to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for autopsy. Mr Adeleke, who was the first governor of the state in 1992, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected into the Senate in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Passengers Accuse Dana Air Of Neglect After Port Harcourt Mishap

The passengers of the near crash landing of Dana Plane at Port Harcourt International Airport are lamenting over what they describe as utter neglect being experienced since the incident occurred. According to them, no one has come forward to explain what transpired yesterday evening or inform them about how to access their luggage. One of the passengers also informed our correspondent that contrary to reports, the plane landed normally, but could not explain what happened thereafter.
