Twin Blasts Recorded In Maiduguri

Two explosions have gone off in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
The explosions occurred around Muna garage area on Sunday evening.
Channels TV correspondent spoke with a source in the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), who confirmed the incident.
According to the SEMA official, the first explosion was carried out by a suicide bomber who blew himself up while the second was detonated by the Police Anti-Bomb Squad after the second suicide bomber, who also died, failed to detonate his.
Earlier in the day, the Police command in Borno state confirmed a blast in the same area.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Mr Victor Isuku Saud, preliminary information suggested that an explosion occurred at Garki Muna which is on the outskirts of Maiduguri.

Senator Isiaka Adeleke Dies At 62

A member of the Nigerian Senate, representing Osun West Senatorial district, Isiaka Adeleke, has died at 62. A family source who spoke to Channels Television under the condition of anonymity, said Adeleke died at Biket hospital in Osogbo at 6:00am on Sunday. When his corpse was brought to his home in Ede town, the atmosphere became tense with friends and family members weeping uncontrollably. As at the time of filling the report, the body had been taken to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for autopsy. Mr Adeleke, who was the first governor of the state in 1992, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected into the Senate in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Passengers Accuse Dana Air Of Neglect After Port Harcourt Mishap

The passengers of the near crash landing of Dana Plane at Port Harcourt International Airport are lamenting over what they describe as utter neglect being experienced since the incident occurred. According to them, no one has come forward to explain what transpired yesterday evening or inform them about how to access their luggage. One of the passengers also informed our correspondent that contrary to reports, the plane landed normally, but could not explain what happened thereafter.
