Sambisa Clearance: BBOG Querries FG On Chibok Girls’ Whereabouts

The Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group says the federal government must explain how the Sambisa forest was declared seized without an account of the whereabouts of the Chibok girls who were purportedly all kept there.
The chairman of the Chibok community in Abuja, Mr Tsambido Hosea, spoke to Channels Television, alongside one of the conveners, Aisha Yusuf at the Unity Fountain in Abuja on Friday.
He wondered why the military that claimed it was careful about clearing Sambisa forest so as not to hurt the girls, finally captured the territory without securing any of the girls.
Although the group commended the government for the recent rescue of Rakiya Abubakar and her infant child, they questioned the government’s handling of the search for the girls.
It was a gathering to mark the 998th day of the Chibok girls in captivity.

Senator Isiaka Adeleke Dies At 62

A member of the Nigerian Senate, representing Osun West Senatorial district, Isiaka Adeleke, has died at 62. A family source who spoke to Channels Television under the condition of anonymity, said Adeleke died at Biket hospital in Osogbo at 6:00am on Sunday. When his corpse was brought to his home in Ede town, the atmosphere became tense with friends and family members weeping uncontrollably. As at the time of filling the report, the body had been taken to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for autopsy. Mr Adeleke, who was the first governor of the state in 1992, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected into the Senate in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Passengers Accuse Dana Air Of Neglect After Port Harcourt Mishap

The passengers of the near crash landing of Dana Plane at Port Harcourt International Airport are lamenting over what they describe as utter neglect being experienced since the incident occurred. According to them, no one has come forward to explain what transpired yesterday evening or inform them about how to access their luggage. One of the passengers also informed our correspondent that contrary to reports, the plane landed normally, but could not explain what happened thereafter. Meanwhile, Dana Air has refuted claims that they (passengers) have been treated with neglect.
