FRSC To Prosecute Hit And Run Driver For Murder

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that it will bring up a murder charge against one Mr Arthur Nwankwo for the death of a road marshal, Anthonia Okoigun.
The road marshal was knocked down in a hit and run case on the December 27, 2016 along Benin-Agbor expressway while on duty.
Speaking to Channels Television in Benin City, the Edo state capital, Sector Commander FRSC RS 5.1, Samuel Odukoya confirmed that road marshal Anthonia Okoigun passed away on January 3, 2017 after failing to recover from injuries sustained in the accident.
A Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC mobile court which sat in Benin City on December 28, 2016 gave Mr Nwankwo a six month jail sentence with a fine of 90,000 Naira.
Mr Odukoya further stated that the FRSC would reopen the case as a result of the development and will now press murder charges against Arthur Nwankwo for the death of the road marshal

Senator Isiaka Adeleke Dies At 62

A member of the Nigerian Senate, representing Osun West Senatorial district, Isiaka Adeleke, has died at 62. A family source who spoke to Channels Television under the condition of anonymity, said Adeleke died at Biket hospital in Osogbo at 6:00am on Sunday. When his corpse was brought to his home in Ede town, the atmosphere became tense with friends and family members weeping uncontrollably. As at the time of filling the report, the body had been taken to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for autopsy. Mr Adeleke, who was the first governor of the state in 1992, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected into the Senate in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Passengers Accuse Dana Air Of Neglect After Port Harcourt Mishap

The passengers of the near crash landing of Dana Plane at Port Harcourt International Airport are lamenting over what they describe as utter neglect being experienced since the incident occurred. According to them, no one has come forward to explain what transpired yesterday evening or inform them about how to access their luggage. One of the passengers also informed our correspondent that contrary to reports, the plane landed normally, but could not explain what happened thereafter.
