DPR To Shut Illegal Gas Plants In Abuja

The Department for Petroleum Resources (DPR) has announced plans to close down illegal gas plants and outlets that do not conform with its laid down safety procedures.
The incoming DPR Zonal Operations Controller in Abuja, Mr Abudullahi Abbah, who made the assertion, said it would help ensure safety for all.
He also assured residents in the Federal Capital Territory that more surveillance and monitoring of petroleum product disbursement would be the agency’s watchword in 2017.
Mr Abbah said the surveillance would help them ensure that consumers get value for their money.
He noted that the DPR was committed to clamping down on operators of illegal gas stations, adding that they would not relent on their mandate.
In a bid to ensure Nigerians get value for their money, the DPR boss urged the people to report cases of sharp practices by fuel marketers.

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Imo state has continued its raid on independent petroleum marketers who sell fuel above the government approved price of 145 naira per litre. During its routine monitoring of four Local Government areas in Imo state Aboh, Ezinihitte, Ahiazu Mbaise and Obowo Local Governments, seven filling stations were sealed due to hoarding, under-dispensing and selling above regulated pump price. Senator Isiaka Adeleke Dies At 62

A member of the Nigerian Senate, representing Osun West Senatorial district, Isiaka Adeleke, has died at 62. A family source who spoke to Channels Television under the condition of anonymity, said Adeleke died at Biket hospital in Osogbo at 6:00am on Sunday. When his corpse was brought to his home in Ede town, the atmosphere became tense with friends and family members weeping uncontrollably. As at the time of filling the report, the body had been taken to the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for autopsy. Mr Adeleke, who was the first governor of the state in 1992, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected into the Senate in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Passengers Accuse Dana Air Of Neglect After Port Harcourt Mishap

The passengers of the near crash landing of Dana Plane at Port Harcourt International Airport are lamenting over what they describe as utter neglect being experienced since the incident occurred. According to them, no one has come forward to explain what transpired yesterday evening or inform them about how to access their luggage. One of the passengers also informed our correspondent that contrary to reports, the plane landed normally, but could not explain what happened thereafter.
