Amosun Commends Military Action Against Militants’ Activities At Arepo
The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has ordered the immediate clearing of about 500 metres of bush around the creeks of Arepo area of the state.
This is to ensure better security around the place which has witnessed activities of militants in recent times.
He gave the order while on an on-the-spot assessment of the area allegedly sacked by suspected militants from the creeks as well as pipeline vandals.
The Governor, while commending the federal government for its prompt response to security threats around some communities within the state, expressed the commitment of his administration towards providing adequate security to bring normalcy to those areas.
According to the residents, suspected militants have made life unbearable for them.
The State Governor admonished the security personnel posted to the place not to drop the ball just as he ordered the immediate clearing of the bushes around the creeks to ensure better security.
The Governor, who visited in company of security chiefs, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his prompt response to the challenges of the suspected militants terrorizing the affected communities.
