Child Abuse: Police Arrest Father Of Chained Child

The Police in Ogun State have arrested a 40-year old man, Francis Taiwo for chaining his son, Korede for over a month at a Celestial Church in Ajibawo, Otta Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Taiwo, who claims to be an ordained pastor, was arrested a day after his son was rescued by a team of security operatives in the state.

Mr Taiwo confirmed to Channels Television that he actually chained his son. He said that his action was borne out of his desire to rid the boy of his ‘stealing spirit’.
He said that he felt the young boy was possessed and after consulting with some spiritualists, he was advised to chain the boy to rid him of the evil spirit.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, Muyiwa Adejobi, says the suspect will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
The case is expected to be transferred to the Anti Human trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the Command.

Algerian attacker and Leicester City player, Riyad Mahrez has been named the African Footballer of the Year 2016. He was announced winner at the 2016 Glo CAF Awards which held in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city on Thursday. Mahrez beat Gabonese striker, Pierre Emerick Aubamenyang who was last year’s winner and Senegal’s Sadio Mane to win the African Best Player crown. Wike Calls On Nigerians To Support Families Of Slain Officers

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has called on Nigerians to make direct investments in the lives of legionnaires and the families of late servicemen, who lost their lives defending the territorial integrity of the country.
